Unexplained phenomena

Allow me to invite you to closely examine this picture here. As I was was washing my hands in the bathroom, only minutes ago, I noticed that somehow a little black elastic band had attached itself to my hoop earing. This is completely unexplained.
a) I have NEVER seen this type of elastic ever
b) My earring hoop is nearly closed on the back so it would be hard for anything to get on it
c) I haven't been around anyone who was touching my hair, ear and/or face all day.

Unexplained happenings such as this are among my most nagging of pet peeves, and unless I am able to come up with a probable reason this thing ended up dangling from my lobe I am going to think myself into a coma. If you have any hypothesis please send them my way.

maybe it was on the earring when you put it on and you didn't notice it? then it slipped down during the day? i don't know, but now i'm bothered.

thats just it....earlier that morning I was in the bathroom washing my hands and silently scoffing my sidebraid that I was sporting. If it was there then I surely would have noticed it

Recent bedroom activities?

I personally blame your roommates, who took turns borrowing your earrings for their recent bedroom activities. Fess up, roomies!

perhaps the REAL question here is why you were wearing a sidebraid. let's look at the bigger picture folks.

Hahaha! I have no hypothesis about how this could have happened, but reading all the comments here, I felt like I was sitting in our corner at the Des in the olden days, having this conversation, and now I'm whimsically nostalgic.

Actually, I do have a theory. In that picture, check out the blur of light in the background. Do you see the big-nosed silhouette? I'm magicked my ghost-self over there to cause a little rubber-band mischief.

I wear sidebraids when its hot to keep my formidable mop of hair from giving my neck and back heat stroke. And since our office rivals the Sahara ever since they had to pump the heat I have dismissed style for comfort. Is that ok ERIN? And Doug, your kind of mischief, even as a ghost is more along the lines of hiding under my desk and giving me a heart attack and distrupting the whole 7th floor. The rubber band stunt would be too subtle for you

I think side braids are cool! hahaha....the plastic thing could have just been stuck on the clasp behind your ear and came loose later while moving around your braid...looks like a seal ring used on a bottle...
